Beginners' SUP Day 17 January

Sat, 17 Jan 2026
7:30 AM - 10:30 AM

Registration opens on 6 January. Keep a lookout for the registration link on Facebook.

If you're new (or newish) to standup paddling (SUP) and want to build your confidence out on the water, then join us for our Beginners' SUP Day with BrisSUP Club. Perhaps you've been paddling for a while and want to meet other paddlers and find new places for an adventure, then come on down and meet the Club and we'll show you Raby Bay. This is a fun day for those with their own SUP. It can be an inflatable, a wide SUP, short or long, any type of SUP (so long as it's seaworthy!).

BrisSUP is an established SUP Club and our experienced paddlers will share their tips for paddling.

What you’ll learn:  Improve your fitness and balance, learn some paddling techniques, self-rescue techniques, learn how to set up and maintain your equipment, explore Raby Bay, and have fun!

When: Saturday 17 January 7:30 – 10am

Where: Beach 2, Raby Bay, Masthead Drive, Cleveland

Who is it for? Adults and kids (Kids 12 & under must be accompanied by an adult)

Skill level needed: You must be able to swim & be able to get back on to your board. Always paddle within your own ability.

Cost: Free. But registration for non-members is essential

Don't have your own SUP? You can hire one from the local Bay Island Sports.

Registration is essential (see below)

We are a Paddle Queensland club and members at club-sanctioned events are covered by Paddle Australia (PA) insurance. Registration for the Beginners SUP event covers non-BrisSUP members under the Come-&-Try It single day PA membership.
